What Is Drug Detox Like?

Drug detox will play a central role in your treatment program. We will help you better understand the root cause of your addiction so that you can work toward overcoming it. Family therapy, individual therapy, behavioral therapy, and group therapy are all examples of therapy that you can expect to experience as you transition into your treatment plan after drug detox.

How Long Is Detox?

In most cases, you will need to spend at least a week in detox. Numerous factors will need to be taken into consideration. First and foremost, we will need to assess the severity of your addiction. There is a high likelihood that your withdrawal symptoms may be more crippling for clients who suffer from long-standing habits. If you are addicted to long-acting opioids like methadone, it may take anywhere between two and four days before your withdrawal symptoms may start to manifest.

Remember, we will be able to provide you with a more definitive answer regarding the length of your detox program after you initially reach out to us. It’s essential that once you make the decision to become sober, you reach out to us right away so that you are never put in a position of not being able to take care of yourself as a result of your symptoms.

Why Choose Legacy to Detox?

There are several reasons why clients decide to come to Legacy for treatment. First and foremost, we do everything that we can to provide our clients with an atmosphere conducive to recovery. There is a common misconception that every treatment facility has bars on the window and is dark and depressive. You will never find that when you come to Legacy. Instead of feeling judged or overwhelmed, we will provide you with the support and the reassurance that you have made the right decision to go to Legacy for detox and treatment.

Another benefit of coming to Legacy is that you can quickly and easily transition right into a treatment program once you are done with detox. We offer a variety of different treatment programs. When possible, we will recommend that you enroll in our inpatient program once you are done with detox. The reason for this is that our inpatient program will continue to provide you with the around-the-clock care that you need in the first few days and weeks of your sobriety.

We understand that this is not possible for every client, however, so we also offer the option of participating in one of two outpatient treatment options. Our intensive outpatient program comes with the requirement of at least nine hours of therapy per week. It provides you with a routine structure that can help you adjust to a better understanding of your sobriety. Our general outpatient program can still provide you with structure and revolve around certain personal or professional responsibilities that you need to see to.

When you are ready to begin living a sober life, the Legacy Healing Center team is here to help you take those first steps. Our recovery specialist can provide you with more information about our detox and treatment program options. Every phone call is completely confidential, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us to learn more about how our team of addiction experts can help you.
