Our Substance Abuse Levels Of Care
Our levels of care for substance abuse treatment are determined by a set of medical, psychiatric, and social assessments led by our multidisciplinary team. During assessments, our specialists receive a better understanding of the extent of the individual’s addiction, as well as any additional underlying medical condition. Below is a list of our levels of treatment for substance abuse and how they could help you or a loved one get clean.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Caring for Ladies and Gentlemen.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP level of care is often the first step for patients suffering from addiction who are ready to turn their lives around. This is an intensive, highly structured treatment program that includes a minimum of 25 hours of clinical treatment per week, community housing in a beautiful residential setting, scheduled evening programs designed to support recovery, 12-step meetings, and relationship-building activities for a sober lifestyle. This is a 6 days a week day/night program, ideal for patients who may be resistant to treatment, lack supportive social or family support in their daily life, or are prone to relapse.
Patients who have completed IOP are strongly encouraged to join an OP level of care to ensure long-term success in recovery. This is a non-residential program for clients who are fully integrated back into society, offering one hour of weekly therapeutic care in addition to other recovery activities such as 12-step. OP is highly flexible and offers treatment options for patients who may be working or in school full-time.
OP is highly recommended to all of our clients to ensure a successful transition and cope with the inevitable bumps on the road to being your best self. Our staff is available anytime, day or night, for every member of our community, at every step of the recovery process.
Medically Monitored Detox
All individuals with substance use disorders will experience withdrawal symptoms when they attempt to quit. These symptoms are the result of physical dependence, which occurs when the body becomes accustomed to a substance and requires it to feel normal or good.
When someone who’s addicted to drugs or alcohol suddenly stops using them, their body will exhibit a variety of symptoms. These may include headaches, excessive sweating, anxiety, seizures, and others. The nature of withdrawals varies depending on the substance and the duration of the person’s drug use.
In many cases, withdrawal symptoms can be dangerous, severe, and even life-threatening, making at-home detox attempts very unsafe. Therefore, our facility recommends that those looking to begin their recovery journeys start with our medically assisted detox level of care. All of our drug detox programs are led by medical professionals who place clients on a tapering schedule and administer medication (as needed) to ease the discomfort of withdrawals and ensure client safety and health.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
For patients who have completed PHP or another form of inpatient addiction treatment, our IOP level of care is an ideal solution to maintain sobriety and adapt to the responsibilities of reintegrating back into society. Recovery is a lengthy process and IOP is here for clients when they are most vulnerable to relapse and faced with the challenge of adapting to daily life without using drugs or alcohol.
Our IOP program includes optional community housing in our beautiful residential facility, group, and individual therapy, 12-step meetings, sober social activities, and relationship building within the recovery network. Patients will receive a minimum of nine hours of clinical treatment per week, and we can work with clients on a flexible schedule to ensure they can meet responsibilities such as work and school.
We understand that families can suffer just as much as the addict, and we are dedicated to providing support groups for families of addicts. Our family programs offer education and training to parents, spouses, and siblings to ensure that they are a positive force for change in the addict’s life, and not unintentionally enabling high-risk behavior. Families may engage in therapy sessions with and without the addict to comprehensively address and prepare for the challenges on the road to recovery.
Sobriety can be difficult to sustain when you’re no longer receiving the round-the-clock care and support that’s typical of the levels of care at a rehab facility. The transition to a sober lifestyle and routine after rehab can be challenging, especially for those who don’t have loved ones at home who can support them. Fortunately, our Legacy Healing Center locations offer addiction aftercare programs and services to offer support to our rehab alumni after they’ve completed treatment to help them stay on track.
In addition to the addiction treatment levels of care mentioned above, our facility also offers clinical treatment that’s centered around three types of therapy: individual, group, and family. In individual therapy, our clinical staff works one on one with patients to understand and treat the roots, symptoms, and externalities of their addiction. Therapy sessions may incorporate a variety of proven psychotherapy techniques tailored to the unique needs of the patient, including programs like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma therapy, and more.
Group therapy is a highly effective treatment that integrates a variety of psychotherapy techniques while building social skills in a sober setting and fostering trust and support among members of our community. We also consider family treatment a critical part of recovery, promoting positive outcomes for the patient and teaching family members how best to cope while supporting their loved ones through transition periods and in the long term.
