Your first question is probably what, exactly, is ecstasy? And is it really that big of a deal? Without getting too technical on the science stuff, ecstasy / MDMA / Molly is a synthetic drug that alters the user’s mood and perception. Synthetic means it’s made in a lab, not based on a plant or naturally occurring substance. It’s also a Schedule 1 narcotic, which means the U.S. government has deemed it has no medically redeeming value and has a high propensity to be addictive2.
