An addiction to drugs or alcohol makes an unmistakable impact on your life. Every aspect of your life is affected. Before long, your boss is calling you in and telling you that you simply are not living up to your professional responsibilities. All of a sudden, your friends and family members begin to distance themselves from you because they notice that something is very wrong. If they don’t become distant, you may find that you are suddenly arguing with them a lot more because you are grasping at straws to protect your addiction. If there is one way that would describe the chaos that addiction tends to cause, it would probably be tiring.
The professionals at Legacy Healing Center in South Florida work with you to give you a second chance at life. We believe there is always hope after addiction, so we go the extra mile to provide you with the care, consideration, and support you need when you are ready to leave the influence of drugs and alcohol in your past.
One feature about recovery that we always encourage when you come to Legacy Healing Center is keeping an open mind throughout the process. There will undoubtedly be parts of your recovery that may make you feel emotionally uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, in the majority of cases, that cannot be avoided. However, when you work through those feelings, you can rest assured that you will be well on your way to a fulfilling life void of the substances that brought you so much sorrow in the first place.
Unfortunately, there is usually a stigma that is associated with drug rehab centers. They are often categorized as scary places that are awful to be in. At Legacy Healing Center in South Florida, we work to change this perception. Many members of our team have personally experienced the consequences of addiction which make us better suited to help you when you come to our facility.
Legacy really changed my life for the better. I was down and out, my life in shambles and didn’t know what to do. Legacy showed me there was a light at the end of the tunnel and gave me the tools to get there. The staff at this facility are genuine and truly care and it shows.
Kaleb was well on his way to being another death sta-tistic victim to Heroin addiction. God led us to Legacy Healing Center. They treated him with love and respect. Showing true concern and patience. Kaleb is a life saved. He is thriving and making positive life choices. His potential is unlimited!
Words cannot describe my experience with Legacy, but I will try. This place has, and continues to change my life. From the start at detox, the staff was very welcoming and caring while I was in a very dark place physically and emotionally. This treatment continued at the PHP and IOP levels. I have been to 5 other treatments facilities, but have never experienced the care and compassion I received at Legacy. Of course the staff is caring, but they are GENUINELY invested in their clients recovery.
Wonderful staff, the treatment program was excellent. They really treat you like family here and genuinely care about you. The 4 months I’ve spent here have been great, I’ve learned a lot about myself and ways to cope with my struggles.
I’ve been to a few treatment centers and this one is by far the best from the living quarters to the clinical and therapeutic experience. 5/5 would recommend. They continue to reach out and stay in contact.
Legacy Healing Center saved my life. The entire staff focuses on every individual as a separate case. No one is left behind. I wouldn’t be here without the staff at Legacy.
Honestly, it’s not what you imagine when thinking “detox.” Legacy made my experience so comfortable from beds, food, staff and such a clean facility. Besides all that they literally gave me life back. Forever thankful.
An addiction to alcohol is a particularly difficult one to manage for a variety of reasons. One of the most prominent factors is that you can legally purchase alcohol seemingly at any point during the day. Most liquor stores open anywhere between 9 AM and 10 AM. All a person would need to do is drive to the liquor store, purchase their alcohol of choice for the day, and drive home. There is no one at the store that would question their behavior or the amount of their purchase.
Additionally, many bars and restaurants begin to open between the late morning and early afternoon and stay open until the wee hours of the morning. A person combating alcohol addiction could quickly go to any one of these places and indulge in their habit. While the bartender may cut that person off at a certain point, that still doesn’t stop him or her from going home and continuing to drink.
Unfortunately, many people are hesitant to pursue the possibility of enrolling in a treatment facility because they mistakenly believe that they will need to stay in a place that looks like a scary hospital. When you come to the Legacy Healing Center in South Florida, that couldn’t be further from the truth. We maintain a bright and beautiful ambiance throughout our facility so that you do not feel confined or overwhelmed. We strive to create both a “home away from home” environment and a luxurious one, which we believe contributes to the possibility of accomplishing long-term sobriety. If there is anything that our team can ever do to make you more comfortable, just let us know.
Before you begin treatment, there are some decisions that you will need to make. One of the essential choices you will need to make is whether you plan to work through our inpatient or outpatient program. Our inpatient program is designed for clients with the flexibility to stay at our facility for a set period. Clients that go through this program will sleep in a warm, comfortable bed every night, eat healthy and delicious food from our world-class chefs, and have the opportunity to work out with one of our experienced personal trainers.
We realize that inpatient treatment may not be an option for some of our clients. If you have personal or professional responsibilities that prevent you from enrolling in our inpatient programs, we will work with you to develop a plan for an outpatient treatment plan. You will come to our facility at specific times on certain days and focus on your recovery.
Whether you decide to enroll in our inpatient or outpatient program, you will still take part in the same therapy types. Therapy is an essential part of your overall recovery because it can help you gain a better understanding of what triggered your addiction. Additionally, it helps you to overcome your addiction by addressing specific issues with our counselors and staff.
One of the leading forms of therapy that you will experience during your time at Legacy Healing Center is group therapy. Our group therapy sessions are modeled after a traditional 12-step meeting. Group therapy is guided by one of our counselors, during which time you will have the chance to talk about your addiction experiences while also listening to other people’s thoughts in your group.
Sadly, addiction tends to impact any member of your family that loves and cares about you. Addiction also has the potential to breakdown family relationships. Legacy Healing Center provides you with the chance to begin to work on your family relationships during the time you are in treatment. Our staff meets with you and your family members in a neutral setting to discuss your concerns and emotions in a relaxed manner.
Many people are unaware that at times there may be an underlying mental illness associated with addiction. Unfortunately, some people may feel embarrassed at the prospect of having a mental illness. Our team works to remove the stigma that is typically associated with mental illness by having the option of taking part in behavioral therapy. Behavioral therapy will help you address and manage the effects of both mental illness and addiction.
One of the most common questions that we receive among clients considering coming to South Florida and attending Legacy Healing Center revolves around the cost. At our facility, we believe that every person should have the opportunity to achieve a sober existence. We do everything we can to work with you to come to our facility if you want to. We do work with many of the major insurance carriers, and we can also coordinate a payment plan in many cases.
It’s important to remember that your stay at our treatment facility is an investment in yourself. You are learning how to achieve and maintain sobriety, which is priceless and can help improve your life quality in more ways than you may realize.
One of the recovery components that is often overlooked is the fact that when you are ready to get sober, you will probably need to go through some unpleasant physical effects as a result of that decision. The prospect of this is understandably scary. Our drug detox program helps you to go through those physical consequences in a safe and monitored environment.
Although it is impossible to tell you exactly how you are going to feel when you go through the detox process, we strongly recommend that you let us help. Many withdrawal symptoms could be potentially deadly, so you should never try to detox alone. If you are still in active addiction when you initially reach out to our intake specialist, please let us know so that we can talk to you more about our drug detox options.
Alcohol detox is very similar to drug detox. When you have consumed an abundance of alcohol for an extended period, it’s impossible to stop drinking without feeling some physical consequence. Withdrawal symptoms typically begin to manifest within hours of taking your last drink.
Many people that been through alcohol detox report feeling generally sick, experiencing bouts of nausea, shakiness, and anxiety. In some cases, and depending on the severity, withdrawal symptoms can lead to seizures, which can be deadly at times.
In the end, you are the ultimate decider in how long you will spend at our facility. We realize that each client is different, so we take the time to work personally with each client to determine their short term and long-term goals regarding their sobriety and their overall life.
Our shortest treatment plan lasts 30 days, which typically does not include any time that you may spend in detox. Our 30-day program is the perfect way for you to break the initial cycle of addiction. You are changing the people, places, and things around you to focus on yourself and what you need to put in place to ensure that you do not fall back into your addictive tendencies. A 30-day program is ideal for a person who realizes that he or she may need help but is not entirely comfortable with the premise of a treatment plan. This program allows you to stick your toe in the water of recovery with the hopes that you will ultimately feel at ease jumping in more.
Our 60-day program is a bridge between the initial 30 days and the long term 90-day program. In many ways, it is an extension of your first 30 days. Many clients find that they go through their initial 30 days and want to remain in treatment because they still have more to learn. If you fall into this category during your stay at Legacy Healing Center, we encourage you to speak to one of our dedicated counselors. They can help you rearrange your course of treatment so that you can stay with us longer.
If possible, we always suggest that our clients opt to enroll in our 90-day long-term treatment program. Although all of our treatment options will provide you with the tools you need to overcome addiction, this program gives you the best possible chance to achieve long-term sobriety simply because of the program’s length. Throughout these 90 days, you will develop healthy habits and routines that will carry over into your everyday life when you return home. You will still experience the various forms of therapy and activities that you would in our 30 or 60-day program. You will give yourself more of an opportunity to learn about yourself and your addiction.
Of course, we realize that recovery does not end when you leave Legacy Healing Center in South Florida. With this understanding in mind, we developed our Addiction Aftercare program. This program provides our alumni with the continued support that they often need once they leave our facility. Whether you need continuing therapeutic support, or you would like to stay connected with the Legacy community, we are here to help. Remember, we strive to create a family-like environment at our facility, so we are always here if you ever need further assistance. Simply call us at 888-534-2295 and we will be there.
Over the past few years, private insurance companies have increased what they are willing to cover when a person needs to go to a treatment facility due to their addiction. It’s important to note, however, that every insurance company and their respective coverage is different. If you are unsure whether your private insurance company will cover any aspect of your stay at Legacy Healing Center, let one of our intake specialists know when you initially call in. We can work with you to determine if any or all of your treatment time will be covered.
Keep in mind that we must know if you recently went through a treatment program at another facility. If so, it’s possible that your insurance coverage may not include your time at Legacy. Additionally, many insurance companies will not cover a detox program. Regardless of the type of coverage you have, you can rest assured that we will do everything we can to ensure that you get the help and the care that you need to recover from an addiction.
