LEGACY HEALING DETOX
One of the biggest struggles involved with alcohol addiction is the fact that it is completely legal to purchase alcohol at practically any time, day or night. Liquor stores typically open in the morning and bars close late at night which means that a person struggling with addiction can drink any time, anywhere. If you feel your drinking habits have become out of control, the professionals at Legacy Healing Center are here to help. We provide the tools you need to not only overcome your active addiction but to grow and develop as a person.
Before you can enter rehab, it is essential that you remove all traces of alcohol’s influence from your body. If you have struggled with a long-standing addiction, it may be unsafe for you to try to detox from alcohol by yourself which is why we offer a medical detox program. While you are detoxing from alcohol, your physical and mental well-being will be closely monitored by our trained medical team to ensure that you are not experiencing any withdrawal symptoms that are potentially dangerous.
The length of time a client spends in detox is usually dependent on the severity of their addiction. You can typically expect to spend anywhere from three and seven days in this program. Once you are feeling physically better, our team can get to work helping you with your specific rehab plan, individually tailored to your unique needs and goals.
Alcohol abuse and addiction can develop for a variety of reasons. Often addiction results from unhealed emotional traumas that a person experiences in life. Whether it is something that happened in your childhood or you suffered through an accident that still haunts you, the team at Legacy Healing Center collaborates with you to determine and treat the root cause of your addiction.
We realize that your 30, 60, or 90-day treatment with us is only the beginning of your sobriety journey. Our Aftercare program is designed to provide comprehensive support to patients that have completed their rehab program. It gives alumni access to a lifelong sober coach, weekly meetings, special alumni events, and holiday celebrations, as well as continued counseling as needed.
During the course of Tallahassee opioid rehab, you will participate in two main forms of therapy. You’ll participate in group therapy, where you will have the opportunity to share your own struggles with alcohol addiction and also have the chance to listen to, and learn from, the experiences of others in the group. You may be surprised to learn that you have a lot in common with your fellow attendees. This can open the door to developing meaningful and supportive relationships that last a lifetime.
You’ll also participate in one on one therapy with our trained addiction counselors. During these individual sessions, you can discuss various aspects of your recovery. Is there something that is bothering you that you do not feel comfortable sharing during group therapy? Do you want to change a detail related to your recovery plan? One on one therapy provides you with the platform to talk about these critical details.
Sometimes people struggling with addiction can feel as though they’ve lost their sense of self. Part of the treatment process is rediscovering yourself. That can include remembering or even reinventing likes and dislikes that are not related to drinking. Fortunately, Tallahassee is home to numerous venues and attractions where you can relearn how to have fun without the influence of alcohol. Here are a few of our favorite places in the area. Of course, if you ever want further suggestions, our team is always happy to help you.
Tallahassee Antique Car Museum
If you love cars, the Tallahassee Antique Car Museum is a must-see. This 100,000 square foot space is filled with dozens of incredible cars. The museum is home to antique automobiles and also features an incredible array of artifacts and toys including Barbie dollars and die-cast toy cars. The museum is open seven days a week as early as 8 AM during the week. Most visitors tend to spend anywhere between one and two hours at this venue.
Museum of Florida History
Are you a history buff? If so, you should take the time to visit the Museum of Florida History. This museum transports you back in time to learn about events that have taken place since the state’s inception. The venue features various exhibits ideal for visitors of all ages. The museum is also home to numerous Florida military artifacts dating all the way back to the 1830s. There is no admission cost for this museum, however, donations are always appreciated, especially if you take part in a guided tour by a member of the museum staff.
