How Long Does Rehab Last?
How Long Does Rehab Last?
Treating addiction effectively is not an overnight process; addiction treatment that works is a process that takes several weeks to complete and requires maintenance of the disease after rehab to maintain the newfound sobriety. So, how long does rehab last exactly?
According to scientific research in treatment length, the longer the treatment program, the better that recovering person’s chances are of staying clean and sober. According to research, the answer to the question “how long does rehab last?” should be three months; 90 days in treatment is considered to be the minimal time that someone should spend in treatment and aftercare services.
We provide various treatment program lengths in our rehab in South Florida, in order to be able to help people with mild to severe addictions. Our treatment program lengths include our 30-, 60-, and 90-day programs.
In these programs, one can expect to be treated through medically-assisted detox, behavioral therapy in both one-on-one and group formats, family therapy, and other programs that allow us to assist the person with other problems they may have after being addicted to drugs or alcohol, such as with their relationships, career, and even legal problems.

What Happens After Rehab?
Addiction recovery is a long-term process. Once you’ve completed a rehab program or combination of programs, there is more that needs to happen in order for your newfound drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle to be maintained. These are known as aftercare programs.
Aftercare programs are essentially sober communities and support groups that offer both the support that one needs during trying times, and a way to further one’s own addiction education and resolve.
Patients finishing our rehab programs can become a part of our alumni activities. This program helps recovering people to transition into their new life with the support of a sober community and our staff. Oftentimes, we’ll invite guest speakers to talk at one of our alumni functions, and we organize frequent fun events that can help to strengthen our sober community and build friendships among participants.
We also encourage patients finishing a program to join a 12-step support group, and we grant easy access to these groups. 12-step support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are excellent ways to continue with addiction maintenance after rehab has been completed.
At any time, if a recovering person feels the need to have a more intensive form of treatment than what the support groups can offer, such as during a trying time in a person’s life, then they may participate in one of our outpatient programs again.

What Types of Durations Are There?
The question “how long does rehab last?” can be answered by looking at the treatment lengths that we offer. Our rehab has treatment programs that last for 30, 60, and 90 days.
Each of these programs utilizes the same types of therapies and holistic treatment methods, including career counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental disorders, behavioral therapy such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, health and wellness programs, and family therapy.
When a person first enters our rehab, they will begin with a medical detox program. This program ensures the safe recovery from a physical dependence thanks to the prescription medication that we can provide our patients. Medication during detox can help to reduce cravings and to deal with the many negative and uncomfortable symptoms that often occur when a person tries to stop alcohol or drug abuse.
Our 30-, 60-, and 90-day programs are offered in both an inpatient (residential) or outpatient settings, depending on the needs of a client, and the level of autonomy they require. An addict may, for example, use a combination of treatment programs such as a 30-day inpatient program followed by a 60-day outpatient program.
Of course, our medical assessment will help our practitioners to establish the best approach to each particular case. Generally speaking, an addict with a history of relapse and a severe addiction to drugs or alcohol might be advised to participate in a 90-day inpatient rehab program as it will allow the best chance of avoiding relapse and successfully treating an addiction.

Benefits of 30-, 60-, and 90-Day Rehabs
Due to the fact that all of our treatment programs provide the same level of care when comparing different treatment lengths in the same setting (inpatient or outpatient), the benefits of the various lengths of addiction treatment lie in the added benefit that more time in treatment can give.
Our 30-day rehab is one of our shortest treatment lengths. 30 days in intensive treatment, especially in our residential facility, is an ideal way to start one’s recovery journey. It allows you to benefit from our behavioral therapies, holistic healing methods, and the supportive community that we’ve created here at Legacy Healing Center.
The 60-day rehab program allows for the same benefits of our 30-day rehab, but with the benefit of having more time to dedicate to intense care and healing. Our luxury rehab facility can carefully guide each client through their recovery during the 60 days that has been dedicated to healing.
Finally, our long-term rehab solution comes in the form of our 90-day drug rehab. It provides the most time to recover from an addiction, further improving a client’s ability to heal and reintegrate into their community and society. This lengthy program is ideal for someone who suffers from a severe addiction to alcohol or drugs such as meth, cocaine, or opioids – especially our 90-day inpatient rehab program.
