Best Rehab for Alcohol & Drugs for Brooklyn, NY Residents

An addiction to drugs or alcohol is something that can happen innocently. You may have taken your first sip of alcohol at a party, and slowly, over the years, that one drink turns into bottles each day. You may have been in an accident and you were prescribed prescription drugs to help offset the pain of an injury, which snowballed into a full-blown addiction.

Regardless of your story, if you have realized that addiction has set into your life, you must reach out to a team of addiction experts that can help you overcome your addiction to go on to live a healthier life.

The Legacy Healing Center team in South Florida is here to help you accomplish the goals you have for yourself when it comes to your sobriety. Whether you have been struggling with addiction for just a few months or it’s been years, our team is here to help you develop a plan that will help you leave your addiction in the past. Our team has a unique understanding of addiction because many members of our team have either overcome their own addiction or have assisted family members or close friends in their sobriety journey.

When you come to Legacy Healing, you will feel the difference from the moment you walk through the door. However, one of the things that we do caution all of our clients on is to keep an open heart and an open mind as you progress through your recovery journey. It’s not uncommon for our clients to hear any thoughts or ideas that they may not have heard of or considered when it comes to recovery, addiction, or sobriety. We encourage you to ask questions or respectfully express your thoughts to ensure that every person who comes to Legacy Healing receives the care and understanding they need.

Alcohol Rehab Centers for Brooklyn, NY Residents

One of the drawbacks of combating an addiction to alcohol is that the temptation to drink is saturated in our society. For example, you will rarely be able to watch television for any period without at least one commercial for alcohol coming on. Additionally, alcohol is always available at the local liquor store or a bar or restaurant. As such, it can be challenging to overcome an addiction to alcohol unless you receive treatment through a holistic recovery center such as Legacy.

When you first come to Legacy, there are several decisions that you will make when it comes to your treatment plan. First and foremost, you will need to decide whether you will work through our inpatient or outpatient program. Our outpatient program would be the ideal option for clients with personal or professional responsibilities that they need to see. Instead of remaining on our facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you will come to our location at set days and times throughout the week. Remember, just because you aren’t living on our campus does not mean that you can’t reach out to our team any time you need extra care.

On the other hand, our inpatient program is designed for clients that can stay on our campus for a set period. Whether you decide to go through our 30, 60, or 90-day treatment plan, you will have the peace of mind of knowing that you have a comfortable bed, warm food, and excellent luxurious amenities to indulge in when you are not participating in counseling.

Examples of amenities that we offer at Legacy include the chance to work out with one of our personal trainers, relaxing with a massage, or grabbing a book from our library. Do you need a quick snack? Stop by the kitchen and pick up anything that suits your fancy. If there is anything that we can do to make your time at Legacy more successful, just let us know, and we will do everything that we can to accommodate.

Regardless of whether you decide to work through our inpatient or our outpatient program, you will still participate in various therapy forms that will help you address the root cause of your addiction and help you develop a plan that will prevent you from relapsing in the future. Group therapy will play a critical part in your recovery. It’s vital that you receive the support you need from the Legacy staff and other people that may be going through similar experiences. That is where group therapy comes into play. During these sessions, you will have the chance to interact with other clients working on their own recovery. You will discuss your thoughts and feelings regarding different subjects and what other people think about them.

It’s not uncommon that you may not always feel completely comfortable talking about a particular subject in group therapy. This is just one reason why we also offer you the opportunity to participate in individual therapy. During individual therapy sessions, you will meet with a member of our team in a one-on-one setting. You can talk about the traumas in your life that may have triggered your addiction or painful memories that you may not have been able to process. Additionally, it’s an ideal time for our team to check in with you to see how you are progressing in your recovery and make any necessary adjustments to your recovery plan.

Unfortunately, we have many clients who tell us about the breakdown caused by family relationships as a result of their addiction. Many close friends or family members may begin to back away from interacting with you. At the same time, you are in active addiction simply because they cannot handle the pain of seeing you hurt yourself because of your addiction. When you begin to become sober, you may want to take the opportunity to try to reconnect with your family members, which is why we offer the option of family therapy. Family therapy sessions allow you to begin communicating in a healthy way with the critical people in your life. It also allows your family members to share what they think or feel regarding your addiction or recovery. It’s important to note that family therapy will only occur once you and the Legacy team believe that you are ready to take this critical step.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

One of the most common questions that we receive from a client interested in coming to Legacy for treatment revolves around the cost associated with care. When considering cost, it’s imperative to remember that each of our clients’ stories is different. While you may have experienced a trauma related to being a first responder, which triggered your addiction, another client may have experienced trauma and battled with a mental illness.

At Legacy, we believe that every client’s treatment plan must be as unique as their experiences. This is why the cost associated with care will likely never be the same from client to client. Before we can tell you what the cost of your care will be, we need to take the time to get to know you to help you put together a plan that will work right for you.

The Legacy team believes that every person that wants to overcome their addiction should have the opportunity to do so. If you are concerned about the cost associated with coming to Legacy, let us know. We will make every effort to work with you so that you can receive the care that you both need and deserve.

How Does Drug Detox Work?

Detoxing from any drug is never an easy feat. One of the most confounding and dangerous aspects of detox and withdrawal is that you can never predict the type of symptoms you will experience. Some clients may feel as though they have a terrible case of the flu, while other clients may experience cravings that are so strong that they feel like they want to crawl out of their skin. Regardless of how you feel, however, you must never attempt to go through this process yourself. Coming to Legacy for detox will give you the ability to take the first steps toward your recovery while knowing that you have a staff of people looking out for you, your best interests, and your health.

How Does Alcohol Detox Work?

There are numerous similarities between alcohol detox and drug detox. First and foremost, alcohol detox provides you with a safe and protected environment where you will have the peace of mind of knowing that you will be looked after and taken care of by a trained medical professional team.

The withdrawal symptoms associated with alcohol detox usually set in within a few hours after the time you took your last drink, although this timeline may change depending on your addiction severity. The height of your withdrawal symptoms will usually manifest between the second and the third day of detox. During this time, you may experience various symptoms, including nausea, shakiness, or an increase in anxiety. Overall, if you are still in active addiction when you initially reach out to one of our recovery specialists, we will recommend that you first go through detox before beginning a treatment plan.

How Long Is Rehab?

We realize that every client has specific needs when they come to Legacy. This is the main reason why every client can choose the duration of their treatment program. Many clients only have the flexibility to take part in recovery for 30 days, while others can extend their program to 60 or 90 days.

One of the things that we advise our clients on is that before you finalize your decision regarding their treatment program’s duration, you first speak to a member of our team. There may be certain aspects of your recovery that you are not considering, which may change your program’s duration. Ultimately, the decision regarding the duration of your program will be up to you.

Does My Insurance Have
Coverage for Rehab?

If you have private insurance, there is a chance that this insurance could offset or completely cover the cost associated with your treatment plan. In recent years, many insurance carriers have understood that addiction is a disease and not something that any person knowingly asks for or wants. This is part of the reason why it’s essential to determine the extent of your coverage.

You should ask your insurance company several questions if you’re unclear about the terms of your coverage. For example, you will want to learn whether a detox program and a residential treatment plan are covered. In many cases, a detox program may not be covered, but an extended residential program may. Remember, if you need any help in determining your insurance coverage’s specifics, just let a member of our team know. We are always happy to assist.

Attractions Near Brooklyn

Many of our clients are excited to return home to Brooklyn after their time at Legacy. However, there are many other clients that feel apprehensive about it because they want to continue to remain in touch with the Legacy staff and other alumni who have completed their programs. With this understanding, we developed our Addiction Aftercare program. This program gives you the option to continue certain therapeutic activities with the Legacy team. Additionally, it gives you access to different alumni events that take place throughout the year. Our team members can provide you with more information about our Addiction Aftercare program at any time during your program.

Once you return home, however, we always caution our clients to put together a plan to help them remain focused on their recovery and sobriety. An excellent suggestion is to do some research and find 12-step meetings that are local to your area. There are usually 12-step meetings that are taking place at seemingly all hours of the day and night, which is what makes it an excellent way to reinforce the things that you learned during the time that you were at Legacy and help you to develop your support system now that you are back home. Once this plan is in place, you can begin to shift your attention toward visiting some of these fun and sober-friendly attractions throughout the Brooklyn area.
